Balmoral Netball Academy
The Balmoral Netball Program welcomes students to a Netball community, where they are able to pursue their passion and enhance their physical skills and fundamental Netball skills, to their highest performance capabilities. The Netball Program has a strong focus on developing confident adolescents off and on the court, to enable them to select a range of future pathways. To be successful, students will be provided quality and supportive coaching for balancing academic, sporting and career goals.
Offered under the Health and Physical Education Curriculum, the Netball subject aligns with the Health and Personal Development standards. The Netball Curriculum unpacks the following concepts including: Nutrition for Netball, Sports Psychology/Team Dynamics and Leadership, Access/Engagement & Equity in sport, Exercise Physiology & Training for Sport, Injury Prevention and Management, Goal setting, Careers and Volunteers in Netball, Games Analysis, Coaching Accreditations and Officiating.
Students trialling to be accepted into the Netball Program, will be assessed under the following levels and criteria; ‘Game Sense/Awareness’, ‘Technical & Tactical’ ability, ‘Netball Conditioning’ and ‘Sportsmanship’. Each of these focus areas will continue to be developed over the six-year course and are linked closely to the framework of the Netball Australia Curriculum. Students will also be required to meet the high behavioural standards to gain entry into the Netball Program.
Trial dates will be announced on the school website. Registration for the trials is required. Please complete the application form and return it to the school.
